ABOUT JASON FREDDI

JASON FREDDI is a unique voice of the country, dreaming Australia through song. Set to a contemporary alt-country / Americana sound by multi-instrumentalist, Isaac Barter, DREAMING AUSTRALIA tells the story of personal experience of connection with remote Australia and of the choices facing the country over land use.

After early recordings with various bands, and playing regional festivals such as the reknowned Queenscliff MF, DREAMING AUSTRALIA is Jason Freddi's first solo project. Freddi has worked with some of the countries most celebrated producers, among them being Roger Bergodaz (Tex Perkins, Mia Dyson), David McLuney (Nick Cave, Dave Graney, Mick Harvey) and now Isaac Barter (Mick Flannery, Didirri, Goanna).

FREDDI is at the forefront of cross-cultural events on indigenous lands, most notably the Bonnet Series, which pioneered an artist-exchange program from Central Australia into North-East China beginning in 2019.

He ventured into movie-making, acting the lead role in Luis Bayonas' 2018 feature film, 'Virtual Dogs, Loaded Guns' alongside Australia screen legend John Waters and producing the infamous #trumpmytrump which went twitter viral and featured in reports from ABC Australia to the Washington Post, Jerusalem Times and elsewhere.

He has a passion for cultural sharing and friendship with Aboriginal Australia, attending the Uluru Statement Form the Heart summit in 2017 and actively supporting the not-for-profit charity, Dreaming Australia Inc .
