| About the Swans of Avon songwriter and performer, Jason Freddi, in 2002 for performance at the Melbourne Shakespeare Festival of that year. The project continued with the production of three CD collections of Shakespeare’s songs and performances at events such as the Queenscliff Music Festival, the Castlemaine Festival and the Montsalvat Shakespeare Festival. Now in its third incarnation, the Swans of Avon continues the exploration of Shakespeare’s songs in the ‘New Trad Folk’ style which is a culmination of 20th Century Western musical influences. The band has also performed for community community events and organisations such as:Melbourne Spring Fling, Council for Adult Education, 3RRR (listen), 3CR and TV-Channel 31 |
