Program Description:
Shakespeare’s songs include some of his most exquisite poetry and
delightful expression. Erza Pound rated Shakespeare’s songs among the
greatest literary works of the Bard and thereby of all time. Interpretation of
these lyrics has a long and rich tradition.
This performance presents thirteen of the songs set to original music in
the ‘New Trad Folk’ style linked by a poetic narrative that disputes on the
nature of music and love. This is a rare opportunity to find that dying love
lives still.
